Earlybrite is a hybrid ed-tech platform dedicated to inspiring young minds, fostering future readiness, and empowering students (ages 2 through young adulthood) across Africa and globally through experiential learning, innovation treks, mentorship, and creative workshops.

We take the trust of learners, parents, legal guardians, and school administrators very seriously. This Privacy Policy sets out in clear, transparent terms how we collect, store, use, and protect personal data when you visit our website (earlybrite.com), participate in our learning programs, interact with our facilitators and mentors, or use any of our associated platforms.

Our Golden Principle: We believe in privacy by design. We only collect the minimum information necessary to deliver exceptional educational experiences, and we never sell your personal data or your child's personal data to third parties or advertising networks.

2. Children & Youth Privacy (Ages Under 18)

Highest Protection

Because many of our learners are children and teenagers, protecting young people's privacy is at the core of what we do. We comply with applicable international child protection standards, including the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), and internationally recognized frameworks such as COPPA principles and GDPR-K.

Parental Consent

Accounts and enrollments for students under the age of majority require verifiable parental or legal guardian authorization or direct enrollment through an authorized partner school.

Guardian Control & Erasure

Parents and guardians have the absolute right to inspect the personal data we hold about their child, request corrections, or direct us to delete and stop processing the child's data.

If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information without required parental or school consent, please reach out immediately to operations@earlybrite.com, and we will take immediate steps to remove the records.

Depending on how you interact with Earlybrite (as a parent, student, educator, or school representative), we may collect the following categories of information:

A. Information Provided Directly by You

  • Contact details: Parent/guardian name, email address, phone number, residential or mailing city/country.
  • Learner profile information: Student full name, age/date of birth, grade/academic level, interests, and dietary/health considerations (strictly required for travel programs like GIT).
  • School & partner information: Name of institution, designation of school representative, official email, and program goals.
  • Application and inquiry data: Information shared when submitting an inquiry, booking a demo, or applying for fellowships like The Builders Foundry.

B. Program Participation & Learning Records

  • Attendance records, course progress, capstone project submissions, and mentor evaluation summaries.
  • Photographs or recorded moments during group workshops, summer showcases, or treks, strictly collected with prior parental notification and media consent.

C. Payment & Billing Data

  • All payment transactions are handled securely by accredited payment gateways (such as Paystack). Earlybrite does not store or process raw debit/credit card numbers or CVV codes on our servers.

D. Automatically Collected Technical Data

  • Standard browser logs, approximate geographical region (via IP address), device type, and basic analytics used solely to improve site performance and resolve technical glitches.

4. How We Use Your Information

Purpose

We process collected data exclusively for lawful educational and operational purposes, such as:

  • Delivering Learning Experiences

    Managing enrollments, matching learners with certified mentors, and issuing verifiable completion certificates.

  • Parental Updates & Feedback

    Sending parents progress reports, schedules, logistical information, and alerts regarding their child's programs.

  • Logistics for Expeditions (GIT)

    Coordinating travel, flights, visas, and safety provisions during international trips such as the Global Innovation Trek.

  • Customer & Technical Support

    Responding promptly to questions, technical issues, demo requests, and parental inquiries.

  • Quality & Safety Assurance

    Vetting educators, monitoring classroom safety, and ensuring high standards of student interaction.

  • Regulatory Compliance

    Complying with applicable legal duties, accounting obligations, and educational accreditation rules.

5. Information Sharing & Third Parties

No Selling
Zero Commercial Sale: We do not sell, rent, or lease personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or third-party marketers.

We share information solely under the following strictly defined conditions:

  • Authorized Mentors & Facilitators: Mentors receive access only to necessary learner details (e.g. first name, age group, project submissions) to facilitate effective instruction.
  • Verified Service Providers: Trusted partners who support our operations (e.g., secure cloud hosting providers, transactional email services like Resend, and PCI-DSS certified payment processors like Paystack).
  • Partner Schools & Sponsoring Institutions: When a learner participates through an institutional arrangement, progress updates may be coordinated with their school administrators.
  • Legal Compliance & Safety: In rare cases where disclosure is required by law, court order, or when necessary to protect the vital safety of a minor or community member.

6. Data Security, Storage & International Transfers

Encryption

We implement robust organizational, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration:

  • Encryption: Data in transit is secured using modern TLS/HTTPS encryption protocols, and sensitive stored data is protected with AES-256 standard encryption.
  • Access Controls: Only vetted personnel and mentors with direct operational needs have restricted, role-based access.
  • Cross-Border Data Flows: Because Earlybrite connects learners with international universities, mentors, and destinations (e.g., Europe for GIT), cross-border transfers are conducted in compliance with standard contractual clauses and data adequacy principles.

7. Data Retention Policy

Accountability

We retain personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, provide ongoing academic or credential verification (such as verifying a graduate's Earlybrite certificate for college admissions), comply with legal, tax, or audit rules, or resolve disputes.

Once the retention period has elapsed or upon a validated parental erasure request, we securely anonymize or permanently delete the personal data from our active databases and backup systems.
